There are five characteristics of life. They are as follows.

1. Organized - Cells with structures and organization.

2. Reproduction - The ability to reproduce.

3. Growth -  The ability to increase the amount of living material and formation of new structures.

4. Adjust - The ability to maintain curtain conditions to maintaion homeostasis.

5. Adapt/Evolve - The ability to inherit genes from generation to generation and change with the environment.
